Leo Hickman reports about James Lovelock:
Humans are too stupid to prevent climate change from radically impacting on our lives over the coming decades. [I agree!] This is the stark conclusion of James Lovelock, the globally respected environmental thinker and independent scientist who developed the Gaia theory.
James Lovelock says:
"I don't think we're yet evolved to the point where we're clever enough to handle a complex a situation as climate change. The inertia of humans is so huge that you can't really do anything meaningful."
I would argue that the News Media are "climate cranks" and they refuse to report anything about Climate Change, regardless of the facts. Discussions about the consequences of climate change are off the table now. We have collective amnesia - recently reported by Bill Moyers and Marty Kaplan. Young People everywhere are screwed! Game Over for Earth's climate! Here is the complete rundown that I am reporting.

So, I agree, this will not effect any opinions regarding climate change. The big problem is that belief in climate change is trending downward, hugely.

Monte--see, this is why I get cranky and whine about "science drivel" like GAIA...if we (scientists) don't keep yelling and stomping our feet folks forget about the facts, and go with easy to digest, warm and fuzzy feel good stories.
